Athlink ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Athlink mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, profile photo, and any additional details you choose to provide (such as your sport, position, or school).
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number. Stripe may collect payment details in accordance with their own privacy policy.
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including device type, operating system, app version, pages viewed, and actions taken within the app.
Messages, photos, videos, and call metadata exchanged between users through the Service are stored to provide the coaching experience.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following situations:
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
We use RB2B (Retention.com), a third-party service that identifies anonymous business visitors to our website. RB2B uses a JavaScript snippet to match website visitors against its database of business professionals and provides us with information including name, professional email, company, and job title for U.S.-based visitors.
This identification happens only for visitors with publicly available business profile data. We use this information to understand who is interested in Athlink and to follow up with relevant prospects.
If you do not want to be identified by RB2B, you can opt out at rb2b.com/opt-out.
For more information on RB2B's data practices, see their privacy policy at rb2b.com/privacy-policy.
We operate a launch promotional-code program and a referral program. To run these features and prevent abuse, we collect and process the following additional information:
Purpose: Fraud prevention, rate-limiting, and accurate attribution of referral rewards between Athlink users.
Linked to identity: All items above are associated with your Athlink user ID while you hold an account.
Retention: Redemption log entries, referral tokens, device identifiers, and card fingerprints associated with promo and referral activity are retained for 24 months from the redemption event, after which raw log entries are deleted and fingerprint-to-user-ID mappings are anonymized. You can request earlier deletion at any time by contacting us (see Section 13), subject to our need to retain minimal records for fraud prevention and legal compliance.
Data sharing: None of the identifiers described in this section are sold, rented, or shared with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or analytics vendors. Card fingerprints are handled exclusively between Athlink and Stripe for payment processing and fraud prevention. Referral tokens are never exposed outside the Athlink system.
Rewards structure: All promotional discounts and referral credits apply only to the Stripe payment for a person-to-person coaching session between you and a creator. They are not currency, cannot be withdrawn, do not unlock premium app features, and are not redeemable for any in-app purchase.
From time to time, after a moment of value in the app, Athlink may show an in-app prompt asking how your experience has been. If you respond positively, Athlink may then ask the operating system to show Apple's standard App Store review prompt. If you respond negatively or choose to send feedback at any time via Settings, you may submit written feedback to us. To support this and the related improvements, we collect and process the following:
Purpose: Triage of bug reports, prioritization of product improvements, and rate-limiting of review prompts so they appear at most a small number of times per user. Feedback is reviewed and acknowledged by Athlink admins.
Linked to identity: Feedback text, role, source, and prompt-timing metadata are linked to your Athlink user ID. App version, OS version, and device model are stored on the feedback record alongside the user ID for diagnostic context.
Apple's App Store review prompt: When you indicate a positive experience, Athlink calls Apple's SKStoreReviewController framework to request that Apple show the App Store review prompt. The decision to actually display the prompt is made by Apple, who limits how often it can appear. Athlink does not know whether the prompt was displayed or what rating you submitted; ratings and reviews you write through that prompt go directly to the App Store and are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not Athlink's.
Retention: We retain feedback records for as long as needed to support product improvement and user follow-up. Prompt-timing metadata persists for the life of your account and is removed if you delete your account.
Data sharing: Feedback text and the metadata listed above are not sold, rented, or shared with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or analytics vendors. Apple's review prompt is the only third-party touchpoint, and only your sentiment response (not your feedback text) determines whether Athlink invokes it.
Sending feedback voluntarily: You can send Athlink feedback at any time through Settings → Send Feedback, separate from the in-app review prompt. The same data described above is collected. There is no obligation to use the feedback channel — you can also reach us via email (see Section 13).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
